Synchrotron VUV Photoionization Mass Spectrometry (SVUV-PIMS) is a highly sensitive analytical method that combines synchrotron vacuum ultraviolet single photon ionization technology and mass spectrometry technology. It is mainly used to study gas-phase molecules, free radicals, clusters and chemical reaction intermediates. Based on synchrotron photoionization mass spectrometry technology, the Atomic and Molecular Physics Beamline (BL09U) has also developed a synchrotron photoionization photoion-photoelectron coincidence imaging (PEPICO) spectrometer and a synchrotron photoionization aerosol mass spectrometry (SVUV-AMS). The Atomic and Molecular Physics Beamline is equipped with a high-pressure flow reactor, an ambient-pressure jet stirring reactor, a low-pressure flow reactor, a SiC microreactor, an atmospheric oxidation reactor, a liquid phase reactor, an aerosol dynamic lens, and a photo/thermal catalytic reactor. These reactors can be coupled with SVUV-PIMS to achieve species identification in complex reaction systems. Overall, the Atomic and Molecular Physics Beamline is an advanced experimental platform for multiple disciplines and uses based on synchrotron photoionization technology. At present, the research fields mainly carried out by using the above setups of the beamline include combustion, catalysis, atmospheric chemistry, materials, molecular physics, etc.
