Mass spectrometer is an important technique to identify molecular structure and is widely used in organic synthesis, petrochemical industry, environmental monitoring, biochemistry, biotechnology, clinical analysis and metabolism research. The soft ionization source, such as ESI and APCI, has been widely used in mass spectrometry, but the application range of these technologies can’t cover polar and non-polar, large and small molecules at the same time. In recent years, with the development of optical technology, photoionization (PI) technology has been widely used in mass spectrometry and is likely to become a standard soft ionization technology. The PI light sources currently used at home and abroad mainly include lasers, vacuum ultraviolet discharge lamps, and synchrotron radiation vacuum ultraviolet light. Compared with other photoionization sources, synchrotron radiation vacuum ultraviolet light has high flux, good stability, high energy resolution, and adjustable wavelength. The mass spectrometry beamline uses synchrotron vacuum ultraviolet photoionization (SVUV-PIMS) technology, which can not only cover polar and non-polar, large and small mass compound molecules at the same time, but also detect active free radicals and intermediate reactants. The mass spectrometry beamline has three sets of self-made reflectron time-of-flight mass spectrometers (mass resolution: 6000), two commercial high-resolution mass spectrometers, and various self-made pyrolysis furnaces, catalytic pyrolysis reaction chambers, low-temperature plasma discharge devices and reaction chambers.
