According to user needs, the Hefei Light Source currently has 10 beamlines and experimental stations, including 5 insertion element beamlines, namely combustion, soft X-ray imaging, catalysis and surface science, angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy, and atomic and molecular physics beamlines and experimental stations; and 5 bent iron beamlines, namely infrared spectroscopy and microscopy, mass spectrometry, metrology, photoelectron spectroscopy, soft X-ray magnetic circular dichroism, and soft X-ray in situ spectroscopy beamlines and experimental stations.

OPPOTUNITIES

University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) is one of the most prestigious universities in China and in the world. It was established by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and is located in Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province. With the resource and support from CAS, USTC aims at educating top talents in cutting-edge, interdisciplinary science and technology. USTC has set up a series of programs ranging from frontier basic research to the development of new technology.

National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory (NSRL) is the first national laboratory in China, and it is a part of USTC. NSRL operates the first dedicated synchrotron radiation facility in China --- Hefei Light Source (HLS). With continuous upgrades, the new HLS, i.e. HLS-II, now is the major light source in China that generates bright VUV and soft x-ray. Using advanced experimental stations at HLS-II, users have been conducting cutting-edge research in the areas like physics, chemistry, biology, material sciences, metrology, medicine, and instrumentation.
