The 2025 Hefei Light Source Annual User Meeting Successfully Held

From 13 to 15 July 2025, the Hefei Light Source Annual User Meeting was held at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Organized by the National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory (NSRL), USTC, the conference attracted 217 scientists and experts from 63 universities, research institutes and industrial entities across China. Prof. Liu Xiaosong, Deputy Director of NSRL, served as Chair of the meeting.

Under the theme “Innovative Applications of Synchrotron Radiation in Biological and Soft-Matter Sciences”, the programme featured nine high-level invited talks and fifteen user presentations showcasing the latest research achievements. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge scientific questions, recent progress and industrial trends in biological and soft-matter materials, highlighting the powerful support and broad prospects offered by synchrotron radiation techniques.

Twenty-one research posters were displayed during the meeting. An evaluation panel selected outstanding posters based on scientific quality, innovation and presentation clarity.

The conference successfully pooled collective wisdom from the biological and soft-matter communities, fostered intensive academic exchange, and promoted the integration of research, education, industry and application. It also strengthened cross-facility synergies in synchrotron-based innovation, further advancing the open sharing and efficient utilization of the Hefei Light Source.
