Combustion and Flame Endstation

The combustion beamline station has developed multiple experimental platforms

for chemical reaction kinetics research by combining synchrotron radiation vacuum

ultraviolet photoionization mass spectrometry (SVUV-PIMS) with supersonic

molecular beam sampling techniques. These platforms facilitate experimental and

theoretical studies in combustion, catalysis, and astrochemistry at both microscopic and

macroscopic levels, enabling the exploration of complex reaction kinetics and in-depth

analysis of reaction microstructures. Building on this foundation, the station refines,

validates, and optimizes accurate reaction kinetic models. These models provide

theoretical guidance for engineering combustion research—including numerical

simulations of energy and power system combustion, pollutant control, and biofuel

evaluation—as well as for studies on efficient catalytic conversion of energy resources

and astrochemical processes.
