Abstract:
Planar stacked structure of organic field effect transistor (OFET) offers a rich, fertile ground for surface and interface research. In this seminar, I will draw on our two recent works to illustrate how the soft x-ray spectroscopies can be utilized to investigate the interesting issues centered on the OFET. The seminar will be focused on two topics. The first topic is related to how the Langmuir-Blodgett multilayer of cadmium arachidate (CdA), as compared with suitably modified substrate surface, is more effective in guiding a conformal, crystalline growth of rubrene film. The second topic discusses the issues of how the metal deposition to form a top contact in OFET damages organic semiconducting films.
