Graphene has received considerable attention in science. This is due to its possible applications ranging from gas sensors to electronic devices with ballistic electron transport, and one might envisage even its use as a high-temperature superconductor. To use graphene in future devices it is necessary to be able to tune the electronic properties, as e.g., band gap, charge carrier concentration, as well as the chemical properties for a convenient integration.
