Prof. Marcus Aldén is a leading researcher in the fields of combustion sciences and technologies and a renowned expert specialized in combustion, enjoying great international reputation. He is member of both KVA (Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences) and IVA (Swedish Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences) .
Abstract:
The presentation will start with a brief introduction of Lund Combustion Center, a European Large Scale Facility, and the distinguishing organization of the combustion research community in Lund University with two national research centers, namely KCFP and Cecost. The recent research activates at the Division of Combustion Physics will be presented and some novel laser techniques, e.g. multi-dimension PLIF, mid- infrared PS/DFWM, picosecond LIDAR, thermo-graphic phosphors, will be described. New challenges and potential contributions of laser combustion diagnostics to the modern energy science will be discussed in the last part.
